Wolves have announced the arrival of new manager Vitor Pereira to take control of the first team.
The 56-year-old arrives from Saudi Pro League club Al-Shabab after spending 10 months in the Middle East.
Wolves are believed to have paid a release clause of €1m to capture Pereira, who was under contract at Al-Shabab until 2025.
The news comes just days after Wolves sacked Gary O’Neil after 16 months in charge, watching the Englishman leave with the squad sat down in 19th in the Premier League table.

Jeff Shi reacts as Wolves unveil Vitor Pereira
It’s an exciting time for Wolves, who were in desperate need of change amid a trialling run of form for the most part of 2024.
While a fresh start is desired, Pereira has a significant job on his hands but will be handed the pleasure of working in the Premier League.
After the club announced the news of the new manager’s arrival, chairman Jeff Shi shared a few words on the appointment.
“We are delighted to welcome Vitor Pereira to Wolves as the new head coach of our men’s first-team. Vitor is a highly respected and experienced coach who has achieved success across different leagues and will bring a new approach for the test ahead,” Shi said via Wolves’ official website.
“This is a challenging moment for the club, and we want to thank Vitor for taking on this responsibility. We have full confidence in his ability to guide us back on track, alongside the players and staff, and the entire club will be united in supporting him to achieve success.”
As expected, the 56-year-old received a warm welcome from those who will work above him at Molineux but, the real support will be expected in the January transfer window.
Fosun must show support for Pereira
After O’Neil felt let down by Fosun in the summer transfer window, the owners and Wolves’ chairman must learn from their past mistakes.
Whether this will happen is unclear, as Wolves’ downfall has been Fosun’s fault rather than the several managers who have attempted to combat the Old Gold’s struggles.
Still, Pereira will arrive with a point to prove and a talent squad to work with, as well as a clear list of what’s needed this winter in the transfer market.
Not receiving sufficient backing is what caused Julen Lopetegui to jump ship and O’Neil to be sacked, making it abundantly clear what Pereira needs from the off.
