Wolves finally have a new midfielder as the Old Gold signed Marshall Munetsi on transfer deadline day.
Vitor Pereira demanded a new midfielder during the transfer window and Wolves ensured the manager’s wish was delivered.
Munetsi signed a three-and-a-half-year contract to complete his transfer from Ligue 1 side Stade Reims, from which Wolves purchased Emmanuel Agbadou.
It’s a huge signing for the Old Gold after Wolves missed out on target Manu Silva earlier in the window, with Munetsi arriving late to bolster the squad.

Jeff Shi reveals Wolves journey to sign Marshall Munetsi
The capture of the midfielder was announced late but, fans expected the signing as Wolves struck an agreement with Reims for Munetsi on the morning of deadline day.
It’s fair to say that Wolves fans were impressed with the signing of Munetsi, as the 28-year-old was compared to Yaya Toure – no pressure.
Supporters will be delighted that Pereira was handed the midfielder he wanted so badly, especially as Mario Lemina’s transfer to Galatasaray is almost complete.
Aside from fans and the manager, Jeff Shi was also delighted with the acquisition, as the club chairman revealed what went on behind the scenes to complete the transfer.
“Our staff travelled to France to ensure this deal was done on deadline day,” Shi told Wolves’ official website.
“It was important for the club, and we’re pleased to bring an experienced player into the group at an important time of the season.”
Wolves supporters aren’t huge admirers of Shi but, the club’s efforts to land Munetsi will be greatly appreciated and quite frankly, a breath of fresh air considering past windows.
“We’re excited to have Marshall on board, and I hope he can help us achieve our aims,” Shi continued.
“He’ll have the full support of all of us at Compton Park and I hope he will have a long and successful time as part of the Wolves family.”
Munetsi already feels at ‘home’ at Wolves
It was quite the journey for Wolves to sign Munetsi and for the player, it’s been quite the journey to arrive in the Premier League.
The 28-year-old has only been playing in Europe since 2019, perfecting his craft beforehand in South Africa.
Upon making Molineux home, Munetsi revealed what it means to be a Wolves player.
The midfielder admitted he was ‘very excited’ to complete his transfer, adding that he expects to feel ‘even more at home’ than he did in France.
“I’m very excited. It’s probably going to be the first time I’ve had a big opportunity to be representing a bigger club. Nothing against Reims, but now you’re going to be playing in the Premier League, playing for Wolves.
“Also, we have a greater population in England for Zimbabwean, I think I will feel even more at home than what I was doing in France.”
Munetsi could make his debut in the FA Cup, arriving match fit having appeared 21 times for Reims in 2024/25.
