Just days after the sacking of Vitor Pereira, Domenico Teti has now also left Wolves.
Wolves sacked Pereira after the 3-0 defeat to Fulham, which some fans felt came a couple of weeks too late.
For many, the scenes after the defeat to Burnley should have spelled the end for Pereira, but he was given another week to try and turn things around.
Pereira’s position had become untenable at Molineux, and now the club are searching for another new manager.
Rob Edwards is high on Wolves’ list of candidates, but prising him away from Middlesbrough will be very difficult. Especially as he again declared last night that his focus was on Boro.
One of the main reasons for Wolves’ poor start is poor recruitment.
And it therefore comes as no surprise that Domenico Teti has now left the club.
Jeff Shi statement as Domenico Teti leaves Wolves

Domenico Teti only arrived at Wolves in early June.
The Italian came to Molineux having previously worked with Pereira at Al-Shabab in Saudi Arabia, and not was hoped that the pair’s relationship would lead to a productive window.
Teti came in as the new director of professional football following a restructure at the club.
But just five months later he has departed. The specific reasons are as yet unclear, but after Pereira’s departure, Teti’s exit was perhaps inevitable, even though it had initially been suggested that Teti was set to stay at Wolves.
Last night, Wolves swiftly made an official announcement after word first came from Dave Azzopardi of Talking Wolves, followed by David Ornstein.
And their announcement included a statement from Jeff Shi, which read: “Domenico approached his role with total professionalism and built strong working relationships across the club during his time with us.
“He made a positive contribution to our football processes and has carried himself with integrity throughout.
“We thank him for his efforts and support and wish him every success in the future.”
Embarrassment for Wolves as Teti departs
News of Teti’s exit probably comes as no real surprise.
Once Pereira had been sacked, there had been some uncertainty about the Italian’s position, even though he’s been billed as a club hire.
He was Pereira’s right-hand man, but they both failed to deliver for Wolves in the transfer window, with the squad now considerably weaker than it was last season.
Domenico Teti’s signings for Wolves
Fer Lopez – £19m
Jhon Arias – £19m
David Moller Wolfe – £10m
Jackson Tchatchoua – £10m
Ladislav Krejci – £6m loan, £20m fee next year
Tolu Arokodare – £24m
It’s another embarrassing episode for Wolves, who prompted a big restructure in the summer to bring Teti in, with Matt Hobbs leaving.
It clearly has not worked out, and Wolves are now having to work to fill another important position, as well as the role of head coach
