Jeff Shi drops verdict on the transfer window and suggests how many signings Wolves missed out on

Wolves fans went into the international break not in the greatest of moods, as deadline day proved to be quiet for the club.

New signings were needed, and unfortunately for Vitor Pereira, they were not delivered as he expected.

The manager said he wanted at least two players to be signed before the window closed, but only Tolu Arokodare was brought through the door.

After three defeats in a row, it is no wonder supporters are concerned about their survival prospects; and the lack of additions towards the end was not ideal.

Jeff Shi has now publicly spoken about the business the Old Gold have done and has delivered a final verdict on how it went.

After losing Matheus Cunha, Rayan Ait Nouri and Nelson Semedo, you would find it hard to find anyone who says Wolves have come out on the better end of the window.

While players such as Jhon Arias, David Moller Wolfe and Jackson Tchatchoua have come in, it remains to be seen if they can sufficiently replace what has been lost.

One man who believes it was a good window for Wolves is Jeff Shi, and he has spoken out for the first time since the window ended.

Speaking on Wolves’ official Youtube channel, he said ‘I think it is a good window. The key purpose of the window is to help the coach. We spoke with Vitor almost every day, even when he was on holiday in Portugal.

We tried to build a squad based on his view, his philosophy, and how he tried to adapt to the league. Of course, [we didn’t] fulfill 100% of the signings he wanted but I think we are 90% there to help him.’

There won’t be many out there agreeing with his verdict about it being a “good window”, not least the manager.

Vitor Pereira desperately needed another midfielder for the squad, and that was not delivered, leaving his squad incredibly light in that area.

Wolves did not have a good transfer window

Despite what Jeff Shi says, Wolves did not have a good transfer window. That much has been evident in the opening three games.

The lack of a midfielder signing could come back to haunt Fosun, and the fact Wolves made a profit in the window, shows that they did not improve the squad.

It is going to be a long season for the Old Gold, and the prospect of getting relegated has become a reality.

The Molineux side are the only team to not pick up any points and have gone into the international break bottom of the table.

That could be a normal sight for Premier League fans as the season continues.
