Jamie O’Hara in no doubt about how many points Wolves will end on after Liverpool defeat

Wolves’ loss to Liverpool continued their awful run of form in the 2025/2026 season, making it 18 games without a win.

In that period, the Old Gold have managed just two points, and they are currently 16 points off 17th place, making their survival prospects slim.

Wolves did have positives at Anfield, mainly the display of Mateus Mane which caught the eyes of Liverpool fans, as well as summer signing Tolu Arokodare making a solid case to start going forward.

Agree or Disagree: Tolu Arokodare MUST be Wolves’ starting striker going forward! 🤔

He offered more up front vs Liverpool than Strand Larsen has for most of the season.

However, while Rob Edwards will take some encouragement from the fight and desire his players showed, for fans, they simply want to start getting points on the board.

Playing well makes no difference if the results do not come with them.

And now former Wolves player Jamie O’Hara believes one thing is certain about his previous employers this season.

The prospect of Wolves becoming the worst team in Premier League history continues to look threatening as weeks go by.

With just two points from 18 games, there is a real danger they could end up with fewer than Derby County’s 11-point tally from 2007/2008

There are still 60 points to play for, and supporters must continue to hold out hope, but the outside noise surrounding the Molineux club is far from an air of optimism.

And Jamie O’Hara is certainly one man who is part of that group.

Speaking on talkSPORT following the Liverpool game, O’Hara said, “They sold their best players over the last three or four seasons; it has caught up with them. Rob Edwards has gone into a sinking ship. He can’t pick up a result either.”

“They did alright [vs Liverpool]; they put in a shift, but come on, you have got to win something. 11 points is the worst by Derby; that is getting buried; that is gone. [Wolves] will do well to get five points.”

Do Wolves have what it takes to secure at least one win in their next five matches?

The Wanderers have some tough fixtures coming up, and a battle against relegation rivals West Ham has to be a game they are looking to win.

However, up first is Manchester United, where Rob Edwards will be without a key player.

Wolves’ January signings need to come in within the first few weeks

The only way for Wolves to get out of this rut they are in is with some fresh blood and some added quality in the January window.

And those signings have to come in sooner rather than later, with Wolves’ pride still on the line.

Rob Edwards has confirmed talks with Nathan Shi are set to, or have already, taken place.

Ahead of the Liverpool match, the head coach said in his press conference, “We’re due to catch up this week, and there are conversations ongoing now with Nathan [Shi] and the rest of the team around the strategy going forward.”

In recent days, the Wanderers have been linked with Sam Surridge, who has become a proven goalscorer in the MLS.

With the club struggling to find the back of the net far too often, his arrival, with a likely season in the Championship in mind, would be welcomed.
