Jamie Carragher tips Wolves to survive as he gives prediction on who will be relegated this season

Last weekend’s 3-0 win over Liverpool was a huge result, and there is a strong belief now that Wolves can start to push up the table.

The club did some brilliant business in the January transfer window.

Six new faces came through the door, and some of them have already made a big impact.

Craig Dawson was particularly good against Liverpool on his debut. He scored Wolves’ second goal, and was pretty dominant at the back.

He’s certainly some who would be up for a relegation dogfight.

But in the eyes of Carragher, Wolves will not be going down this season.

He said on The Overlap: “I think Southampton and Bournemouth are going to go down. I think if Everton hadn’t changed manager they would have been in big trouble. But I think it’ll be down to Everton and Leeds, I think it’ll be a toss up between the two.”

Southampton currently sit bottom of the pile on 15 points. Bournemouth are just a couple of points above them in 19th.

Everton occupy the final relegation spot and have 18 points.

Then it’s West Ham United and Leeds United both on 19, with Wolves on 20.

It’s all very tight. Wolves still have a lot of work to do to make sure they don’t get dragged back in.

Wanderers have a great chance of staying in the Premier League this season, with officials taking decisive action in the last few months.

The hiring of Lopetegui was absolutely huge for the club.

And then the business that was done last month was really positive. It was essential that some experienced players were brought in.

There’s a lot of work to be done. But Wolves are now in a great position to kick on and get away from danger.
