Wolves take on Chelsea on Saturday evening, but their quest to hire a new head coach has yet to be finalised, with James Collins set to be in the dugout.
The Old Gold have struggled to narrow down a clear candidate after Gary O’Neil withdrew himself from the process.
A return for the Englishman seemed to be the most likely option, but since that fell through, there seems to have been little progress.
Multiple contenders have continued to pop up, but it looks like the search will continue into the international break after the latest update for Wolves’ trip to play Chelsea.

James Collins and Richard Walker in charge for Wolves against Chelsea
It appears that Wolves will be without a permanent manager when they travel to face Chelsea on Saturday evening.
An update from Sky Sports journalist Lyall Thomas has confirmed that youth-team bosses James Collins and Richard Walker will take on the duties of managing the first team.
While it is not ideal news for fans, Mateus Mane could be delighted at Collins being caretaker.
Additionally, in the update, Thomas reveals that Rob Edwards, Rui Vitoria and Erik ten Hag are all unlikely options for the Wanderers.
The search for the next manager is set to head into the upcoming international break, as Wolves did not have any options considered before Pereira’s sacking.
With the Old Gold being unprepared to replace their former head coach, the international break is certainly coming at a good time.

Wolves must use international break wisely in new manager hunt
The international break will give the Wolves hierarchy a chance to truly break down the best options available to them.
It is clear they need this extra time; the incompetence of not considering candidates during Pereira’s winless run has proved to be a major error on their part.
There are plenty of free agents on the market, and the team of Jeff Shi, Matt Wild, and Matt Jackson are leading the search.
Fans will not have much hope with the involvement of Shi in the decision-making, and it is crucial that he gets this decision right.
Wolves’ Premier League status is dependent on it.
