Injury concern ahead of FA Cup quarter-final

Wolves are amidst an injury crisis. The club have few options up front with Matheus Cunha, Pedro Neto and Hwang Hee-Chan all currently spending time on the sidelines

However, it isn’t just the front line that is suffering. Wolves’ were without Craig Dawson against Fulham who has been a brickwall so far this season. 

There are now further concerns that he won’t be playing at Molineux against Coventry in the FA Cup quarter-finals. The defender has not been spotted in training this week ahead of the clash.

Matheus Cunha – injury update

On a more positive note, it seems as if one vital man is on the mend. Under Gary O’Neil, Cunha has shone. Despite not being a natural striker, the Brazilian has occupied that position in the starting XI throughout the season.

Then, at the start of 2024, this began to pay off with Cunha on sensational form which saw him net a hat-trick past Chelsea. However, this was soon brought to an end after he was forced off with an injury against Brentford.

After over a month out, it now seems that Cunha is close to a return to the pitch.

Paul Merson’s doubts

For all the good form the players are in this season, much of this can be put down to one man, Gary O’Neil.

The manager came into a Wolves side in crisis and could well guide them to their first major trophy in many fan’s lifetimes this season.

However, Merson is concerned that Wolves may not be able to hold onto O’Neil as the summer approaches.
