Injury concern for Wolves as Pedro Neto stretchered off v Newcastle

Pedro Neto has been stretchered off during the Wolves and Newcastle game at Molineux on Saturday night.

Wolves managed to extend their unbeaten run to five in the Premier League with a 2-2 draw with Newcastle.

Pedro Neto managed to add to his ever-increasing assist tally this season as he put a brilliant corner in for Mario Lemina to make it 1-1. This coming days after Neto praised Gary O’Neil for helping him improve.

The game didn’t end as Neto would have planned, as he found himself withdrawn early due to a suspected hamstring injury.

We don’t know the severity as of yet, however, we do know it didn’t look great as he clearly was in some pain.

Stretchered off

It looked an uncomfortable one for Neto as he pulled up holding his hamstring after leaving Sean Longstaff for dead in his dust.

Neto looked as though he was lining up to shoot before he pulled up, with his face instantly telling the story of concern.

He then lay down in the box before Wolves’ medical staff were able to see to him.

Deciding he couldn’t continue, Neto was stretchered off to the standing ovation he deserved from the Molineux fans. Now we can only hope it isn’t serious and he can return after minimal absence.

Neto’s injury record

Since April 2021, Neto has missed well over a year of action due to injury for Wolves.

This has amounted to 79 games, as he suffered both a knee injury and an ankle injury according to TransferMarkt.

Neto is considered among the finest talents in the Premier League however when praised, the sentence is always followed by ‘if he can stay fit’.

Hopefully he doesn’t miss too long and recovers soon as he will be sorely missed in this Wolves side.
