Ian Wright thinks Liverpool will do to Wolves what they’ve done three times in last six meetings, Gary Neville and Roy Keane disagree though

Wolves are preparing to travel to Merseyside for a big Premier League match against Liverpool. The clash at Anfield will have serious implications at both ends of the table.

The Old Gold come into Sunday’s matchup in good form, having won back-to-back games. Liverpool, however, not so much.

The Reds have had a disastrous week. After being knockout out of the FA Cup in the Fourth Round against Championship strugglers Plymouth Argyle last weekend, Arne Slot then had to take his side across town for the last-ever Merseyside Derby at Goodison Park.

In true Everton fashion, the blockbuster clash lived up to the hype. A late 2-2 equaliser from James Tarkowski ensured Liverpool remained winless in their last two games.

And next up for the Premier League title hopefuls… Relegation-threatened Wolves.

Gary Neville and Roy Keane predict Liverpool vs Wolves winner

Although Liverpool are enduring their worst spell of the season, they’re still the overwhelming favourites to take all three points from Vitor Pereira’s side this weekend.

Aligning with that expectation, while discussing on the latest episode of The Overlap what they think Sunday’s scoreline will be, Gary Neville predicted an easy Liverpool win.

“3-1 Liverpool. I think Wolves have got a goal [in them],” he said.

Fellow pundit Jill Scott agreed and added she expects Mo Salah to bag a hat trick: “3-1 Liverpool. Salah hat trick.”

Roy Keane also agreed with the result but thinks the scoreline will be 2-1 to Liverpool instead.

Ian Wright less optimistic

Wolves’ record against Liverpool isn’t the best.

The Old Gold have won against Sunday’s opponents just once in all competitions in the last six years.

The two sides’ last six meetings have seen Liverpool win and keep a clean sheet on three occasions, and Ian Wright is expecting more of the same this weekend.

“I wouldn’t give them [Wolves] a goal,” the former Arsenal man said.

Thanks for the vote of confidence, Wrighty.

Sunday’s match at Anfield is scheduled to kick-off at 2 p.m. (UK time) and will be broadcast live on Sky Sports.
