Several Wolves players have impressed so far this season despite the Old Gold’s dreadful start.
After eight games played in the 2024/25 Premier League campaign, Wolves are without a win with just one point on the board.
Gary O’Neil has to make a quick change in order to turn his squad’s form around, with the Old Gold without a win in the league since April.
While the 20th place position tells an alarming story, the manager actually has a lot of positives to take from Wolves’ start, with an incredibly talented group at his disposal.

Ian Wright praises Wolves striker Jorgen Strand Larsen
In the summer, O’Neil lost both Max Kilman and Pedro Neto, two players who were integral to the high points of last season.
While bidding farewell to the duo was tough, the manager and Matt Hobbs made some impressive moves in the transfer window, welcoming the likes of Andre and Jorgen Strand Larsen to become first team regulars.
The latter has had a strong start to life at Molineux, already scoring three Premier League goals from his opening eight appearances in the top flight.
It’s clear that Strand Larsen has a profile sculpted to play in the Premier League, with many outside of Wolves appreciating the Norwegian.
Speaking about the Old Gold on The Overlap, former Arsenal striker Ian Wright admitted that he’s a fan of the summer signing.
“I like him, Strand Larsen, they can get the ball in the box with him,” Wright said when evaluating what the forward offers to O’Neil’s team.
Fellow Premier League icon Paul Scholes also contributed to the conversation on the Midlands club, praising the ‘energy’ the squad possesses.
“I think they’ve got an alright squad of players though, a lot of energy.”
Strand Larsen has a message to send to Gary O’Neil
Strand Larsen has been a topic of great discussion in the days following the Old Gold’s devastating late defeat to Manchester City.
The striker scored a superbly worked goal in the contest against the champions as his presence in the box came of great use to Wolves once more.

While it’s been a wholly inspired start to life in England for the Celta Vigo loanee, O’Neil expressed his concern over Strand Larsen’s fitness following the defeat to City.
Wolves supporters had a lot to say about the manager’s comments, with many defending the striker’s approach, reinforcing how valued the Norway international already is in the Midlands.
