Nathan Collins has admitted that he did not to leave Wolves this summer.
The central defender departed Molineux earlier this summer, to join Brentford in a deal worth around £23 million.
He was the second high profile departure of the summer at Molineux after Ruben Neves.
His sale rather came out of the blue.
There were a couple of weeks of links to Brentford, and then he was gone after just one year at the club.
It transpired afterwards that Wolves’ financial issues were the reason for the sale.
And Collins has been speaking about his exit from the club, admitted he didn’t want to go…
Nathan Collins opens up about his exit from Wolves
Collins’ exit happened pretty quickly in the end.

And the player has now opened up about his move to Brentford. And it’s fairly clear it’s not something he was particularly expecting.
He said (Mirror): “I wanted to stay. I don’t want to keep moving as much as I have. But it’s my career and I have to keep making decisions that are the best for my career, my family and the people behind me.
“We all thought this was the best for my career but I now want a bit of stability.”
Nathan Collins could end up being an uncomfortable watch for Wolves fans
Collins leaving the club was a real shame, but ultimately something that was seemingly unavoidable.
Wolves needed to bring in cash, and he was not a player who was seen as a regular starter by Julen Lopetegui.
His sale saw the club make a very small profit on him, and go some way to alleviating the financial pressure on the club.

It will now be very interesting to see how he gets on at Brentford.
So far the Republic of Ireland Player of the Year has made a good impression for the Bees, playing 90 minutes in all three of their Premier League games so far. And it’s an unbeaten start for Brentford, who have also kept one clean sheet.
Although he lacked consistency at Molineux, he definitely has the potential to become a top centre-half.
