‘I fully expect’… Paul Merson makes ‘intimidating’ claim as he drops score prediction for Crystal Palace vs Wolves

Wolves fans will have to wait slightly longer for the club’s next Premier League game against Crystal Palace.

The Eagles are in action against Manchester City in the FA Cup final this weekend, meaning Vitor Pereira has a few more days to mull over how best to get three points at Selhurst Park.

Wolves have lost their last two Premier League games against Brighton and Manchester City.

So the Wolves manager will be keen to get things back on track, after a superb winning run beforehand that stretched for six games.

Jorgen Strand Larsen may well be back after injury for Wolves. The Norwegian came off the bench against Brighton, and fans will hope he can find the form that made him the club’s Player of the Month for April.

Hopefully, there will be an improved performance down in London after last weekend’s defeat to Brighton.

Wolves still have reason to be competitive next Tuesday.

At the moment, Wanderers can finish anywhere from 13th to 17th in the Premier League table.

Wolves will ideally finish as high as possible to ensure greater prize money, going into the summer transfer window.

Tuesday’s game will not be easy though, with Palace having been much stronger in the second half of the season than the first.

For Paul Merson, the Eagles will take all three points next week, despite Wolves being the fresher side.

He told Sportskeeda: “When the crowd gets behind them, Palace can be an intimidating team to face. I fully expect them to get the job done against Wolves.”

Wins against Palace have been hard to come by for Wolves in recent times.

In the last eight meetings between the two sides, Wolves have won just one game. There’s been one draw, which came this season in the reverse fixture, and there have been five Palace victories.

Palace wins – 27
Draws – 20
Wolves wins – 30

It will be interesting to see what kind of Palace side turns up next Tuesday.

Palace can actually still finish in the top half of the Premier League table, which will be appealing for them. But undoubtedly, their big priority is the FA Cup final this weekend.

Should they lose that, then Palace may have more get up and go when Wolves come to town.
