Wolves are preparing for an important clash against Arsenal on Saturday. Vitor Pereira must find a way to take at least a point.
After winning just four matches this season, the Old Gold sit dangerously close to the relegation zone on 16 points.
Position | Team | Played MP | Won W | Drawn D | Lost L | For GF | Against GA | Diff GD | Points Pts |
16 | 21 | 4 | 8 | 9 | 18 | 28 | -10 | 20 | |
17 | 22 | 4 | 4 | 14 | 32 | 51 | -19 | 16 | |
18 | 22 | 3 | 7 | 12 | 20 | 43 | -23 | 16 |
The side will now travel to the country’s capital to take on Mikel Arteta’s Gunners in what will be Pereira’s biggest challenge since taking over from Gary O’Neil.
And unfortunately, the Wolves manager has confirmed he won’t be able to rely on one key defender for the whole match.

Vitor Pereira confirms Toti Gomes unable to play 90 minutes
Toti Gomes injured his hamstring at the end of December and has since missed games against Tottenham, Nottingham Forest, Bristol City, Newcastle United and Chelsea.
Pereira expected Toti to be back this week, but the 56-year-old is not sure the 26-year-old will be able to see out the full game on Saturday.
“I believe Toti will be there for the game, but not for 90 minutes as he’s not ready,” he told reporters in his pre-match press conference.
Toti’s return, although unlikely to be from the start, will be a boost nonetheless. The Wolves defence is one of the leakiest in the country, and failure to improve will almost certainly lead to their relegation.
No changes at the back expected
However, unlikely to throw him straight back in after such a long spell out, Toti will probably be named among the Wolves’ substitutes.
That will open the door for Santi Bueno, Matt Doherty, and new signing Emmanuel Agbadou to start back-to-back Premier League matches.
Toti’s return is a positive, and although this weekend’s trip to Arsenal may come too soon for him to make his 16th league start of the season, fans will be hopeful the Portugal international can make his full return in next weekend’s Midlands derby against rivals Aston Villa.
