Hwang Hee-chan spotted at Wolves' open training session today

Wolves star Hwang Hee-chan took part in the Easter open training session that was held at Molineux today.

The South Korea international has been sidelined for the past few weeks with a hamstring injury.

Hwang sustained a hamstring injury in the 3-0 win over Liverpool at the start of February. That caused him to miss the next five Premier League games.

He returned against Newcastle United and came off the bench to score. But he then picked up a new injury, forcing him to miss the Leeds United and Nottingham Forest games.

The former RB Leipzig star has arguably been missed since his setback.

He is a player Lopetegui has been quite fond of, and his improvement under the Spanish coach has been notable.

Since returning form the World Cup, Hwang’s performances have gotten better, and he was really unlucky to sustain another hamstring injury when he was in a good moment.

Hwang has suffered a few hamstring injuries already during his time as a Wolves player. Given his explosiveness, it is something that is perhaps to be expected.

Lopetegui was asked about Hwang ahead of last weekend’s game with Forest.

He said that the game would come too soon for him.

But it looks as though he could be in contention to feature this weekend against Chelsea.

Wolves held an open training session at Molineux today, and broadcaster Ian Abraham was present. He uploaded a video of the players walking out onto the pitch and Hwang can be seen with the rest of his teammates.

Big boost for Wolves as Hwang Hee-chan seemingly resumes training at open session

It is great to see Hwang back in the picture for Wolves.

Wanderers will need to be able to call on him in the coming weeks.

While he is not prolific, (who in the squad is?) one thing that is guaranteed with Hwang is work-rate.

The £14 million star featured quite heavily since Lopetegui came in, and the manager will no doubt value this trait of his highly.

Every game between now and the end of the season is a battle. And Hwang is one you can count on to give his all.
