Wolves are watching Hugo Bueno shine from afar as the loanee continues to impress in the Netherlands.
Some were surprised when Gary O’Neil sanctioned Bueno’s exit in the summer transfer window, sending the Spaniard to Feyenoord on loan.
Bueno’s minutes at Molineux were limited due to Rayan Ait-Nouri’s rise, with Feyenoord considered the best place to allow the 22-year-old to thrive.
So far, the loan has been a huge success for the defender, who is experiencing Champions League football and is now playing under Premier League icon Robin Van Persie.

Hugo Bueno shares update on his Wolves future
Bueno earned rave reviews after his Champions League performance that saw Feyenoord progress to the round of 16.
As the Wolves ace continues to thrive abroad, many have been thinking about what the future holds for the Spaniard.
While it’s understood that Bueno will fight for his place at Wolves next season, nothing is absolute, with attention building amid the left-back’s impressive form.
Speaking to AS, the player himself was quizzed about his future, where he shared a slightly ominous update regarding his next steps.
“This loan has been great for me, especially the experience in the Champions League and competing against the best,” Bueno said.
“Knowing that you can be at their level is incredible. You have to live in the present, because if not you’ll worry. I want to do my best and also be called up to the Under-21s for the European Championship, which would be a dream to play in.”
The 22-year-old is eager to be recognised internationally but that’s not his only motivation, as the Wolves loanee admitted that his outlook has ‘changed’ for one reason.
“If something happens, let it be to improve. But playing in the Champions League has changed my mentality.”
Bueno, as expected, is relishing playing amongst Europe’s elite, which is something Wolves can’t offer the defender.
Though Wolves protected the budding talent by extending his contract before his exit, it will be interesting to see if interest from elsewhere builds ahead of the summer.

Bueno could be crucial to Vitor Pereira next season
Committing his future to Molineux was a positive for both Wolves and Bueno, who are contractually tied until 2028.
One person who will certainly be studying what the defender is doing in the Netherlands is Vitor Pereira, with there uncertainty regarding the left-back position ahead of next season.
Ait-Nouri has been linked with a transfer, which could happen in the summer as Manchester United admire the Algerian.
If Pereira’s first-choice fullback does depart, there won’t only be an opening for Bueno but, the chance to become a Premier League regular.
All will become clearer in the summer, with an in-form Bueno set to return to Molineux at the end of the 2024/25 calendar.
