How Tolu Arokodare is now feeling about Wolves this season after extending winless run vs Crystal Palace

Belief in the Wolves fanbase may be hard to come by right now; you cannot blame supporters for that, and now Tolu Arokodare has shared his feelings about the situation.

The Nigerian started in Rob Edwards’ first game in charge, and the head coach dropped a hint over Tolu’s potential minutes under him.

Unfortunately, while he battled hard, the Old Gold succumbed to a 2-0 loss at the hands of the Eagles.

Interestingly, the forward was also involved in one of the stranger moments of the match. A full-time conversation with Oliver Glasner sparked intrigue.

However, the Crystal Palace boss remained coy on the details of that chat.

Tolu was also interviewed after the game, and here are his thoughts on the match.

How many goals will Tolu Arokodare score across all competitions for Wolves in 2025/26?

Tolu Arokodare admits Wolves are still confident

The situation at Wolves is bleak. After defeat to Crystal Palace, the Wanderers are now nine points off safety.

Despite the loss, there were some positives to take out of Rob Edwards’ first game in charge. Adam Wharton felt Wolves were difficult to beat, and that can only be a good sign if the Old Gold can continue to be that type of side.

Tolu Arokodare said (via Wolves), “I wouldn’t say there’s nervousness. I don’t think we’re nervous; if anything, we’re very confident. We’re confident the results will come our way very soon.

“We try to play our football, we try to get the goals, and the results are just not coming. The two goals we conceded were very unlucky, and that’s how it’s been for us most of the season.”

The Wolves forward also delivered an insight into what Rob Edwards told them at half-time, saying, “He said we had to continue doing what we were doing in the first half but do it better. He liked the spirit, he liked the energy, but he knows that we could give more, and we had to give more.

“We lost a couple of second balls, and we were one down when it comes to second balls, and he wanted us to win more second balls but actually just continue and try to get the goals.”

The Wolves head coach will have been happy with Arokodare’s efforts despite the striker not getting on the scoresheet.

The number 14 made himself a handful for the Eagles’ defenders and was a great utility for defending set pieces.

Rob Edwards will be secretly hoping for an AFCON snub for Tolu

As things stand, Tolu Arokodare seems likely to be included in Nigeria’s AFCON squad in December.

However, if his last international appearance shows anything, that could be in danger.

Arokodare did not impress one bit as Nigeria were knocked out of World Cup qualifying.

If he is selected, Tolu could miss up to seven games in all competitions.

While Edwards will want the best for all of his players, if the forward does get snubbed, he will selfishly be delighted he will stick around as an option throughout December and early January.
