How to watch Wolves players at AFCON and the Asian Cup

We explain how Wolves fans can watch some of their favourite players this month as they go away to compete in the AFCON and Asian Cup.

Wolves have seen multiple players depart the club to compete in these tournaments. Hwang Hee-Chan has left to go to South Korea. Boubacar Traore and Rayan Ait-Nouri have also departed to compete at the AFCON for Mali and Algeria respectively.

This news was no doubt a blow to manager Gary O’Neil. The depth in the squad is certainly depleted after this news. Players such as Matt Doherty were forced to play left wingback against Brentford in the FA Cup to accommodate these losses.

However, if one of the trio comes back with the trophy, it may increase their confidence going into the second half of the season.

Hwang and Ait-Nouri have both been big stars for the Molineux club so far this campaign. Therefore, their countries will be hoping they can continue that into these tournaments.

Both AFCON and the Asian Cup are available to watch in the UK and below, we explain how you can get it on your TV.

The tournament is set to get underway on January 15th. Senegal are the current champions while the competition is hosted by the Ivory Coast this year. Ait-Nouri will begin his campaign against Angola on the opening day while Traore will face South Africa the following day.

All UK users can watch the tournament live on Sky Sports. Every single game is set to be broadcast on the channel with no game kicking off later than 20:00.

If you are unable to access Sky Sports, the CAF also will be providing highlights for free on YouTube.

With Algeria being one of the favourites for the competition, it could be a chance for Wolves fans to see one of their players lift a trophy.

However, with Algeria and Mali being placed in separate groups, Wolves fans are unlikely to see the duo come up against each other in the tournament.

The Asian Cup is held in Qatar this year with the Maroons also being the holders of the competition. The tournament kicks off on January 12th with South Korea not getting underway until January 15th.

Hwang’s first game will be up against Bahrain before he takes on Jordan and Malaysia on January 20th and January 25th.

Wolves fans can watch the tournament in the UK by subscribing to TrillerTV+. It will cost £7.99 per month but you will be able to watch every single game in the competition.

Alternatively, you can go to YouTube and get some coverage of the games on the AFC Asian Cup channel.

Like Algeria in the AFCON, South Korea are one of the favourites to win the Asian Cup. Hwang’s form may well be key to a successful tournament for South Korea as they look to win the cup for the first time since 1960.
