Ladislav Krejci was part of an impressive Czech performance that held Croatia to a 0-0 draw on Thursday evening.
The Czech defender is quickly becoming a Wolves favourite, and his performances for both club and country have been largely praised.
The summer signing has been vocal about the Old Gold’s struggles, and his importance within the squad is already being recognised.
Marshall Munetsi says Krejci is a ‘crucial’ player despite only joining in August.
During international duty, the Wolves man started in central defence in a back four and had the hard task of keeping the Croats quiet as he looks to try to book his ticket to next year’s World Cup.
Now, the Czech media have delivered their verdict on his display.
Ladislav Krejci praised by the Czech media against Croatia

Czechia sit in second place in their World Cup qualification group, and they are still in with a chance of topping the group.
Croatia do have a game in hand, but the two nations are level on 13 points at the moment.
Thursday’s game was extremely important for both sides, and while Ladislav Krejci’s country would have wanted to win, it was also important not to lose.
Fans were left impressed with the player, and he was voted as their man-of-the-match.
The game ultimately ended goalless, and the Czech media have also delivered their verdict on the Wolves player’s performance.
Czech outlet Fotbal Zpravy ranked Krejci as the best player on the pitch for his nation, and they offered him a lot of praise.
They said, “Probably the best of the Czechs in terms of performance. He handled both aerial duels and sprint battles with the opponent’s fast players very well.
“As the more dominant of the centre-back pairing, he was also confident in building play from the back. He also deserves praise for two blocks of dangerous shots.
“However, he faltered twice, allowing Croatian attackers to run behind him on loose balls. Budimir narrowly missed reaching the ball, and Ivanović, in a difficult position, shot wide.”
The media outlet has a rating system out of five, with one being the best score. Krejci was handed a two for his performance.
In the end, it was a good point for Czechia, and it looks like they will at the very least have a World Cup play-off game secured.
Krejci will be hoping to join the six Wolves players already qualified for the 2026 World Cup.
Ladislav Krejci’s stats vs Croatia
Krejci’s stats vs Croatia do highlight that he was very active defensively throughout the game.
The defender won all three of his tackles, made eight clearances, and completed six recoveries throughout the 90 minutes.
He could perhaps have been stronger in his duels, winning just six out of eleven on the night.
Overall, it was yet another strong showing from the former Girona man, and it is already looking like he is one of Wolves’ best pieces of business over the last few years.
