Panic is starting to set among Wolves fans with the 2025/26 Premier League campaign only weeks away from kicking off.
Wolves suffered a 3-1 defeat to RC Lens in their latest friendly on Wednesday night, extending their winless run to four matches in pre-season.
Form isn’t normally a cause for concern in the off-season, but Wolves fans are worried about the lack of depth in the squad, having only made two signings so far.
Supporters feel that Vitor Pereira’s squad has regressed from the last campaign after losing the likes of Matheus Cunha, Rayan Ait-Nouri, Nelson Semedo and Pablo Sarabia this summer.
Jhon Arias is arguably a replacement for Cunha, but the Old Gold currently need to strengthen in multiple positions, and time is of the essence.

Wolves want four more signings before the transfer deadline
While many wanted Wolves to get their business done early for once, it appears history is repeating itself, seeing the Wanderers leave their dealings until the last minute.
Currently, not signing anyone else ahead of their clash against Manchester City on August 16 would spark major problems.
Wolves are short in midfield and at wing-back, most prominently, but they’re also lacking support for striker Jorgen Strand Larsen.
According to Express & Star journalist Liam Keen, Wolves are ‘confident’ of bringing in four additions before the transfer deadline.
As we know, the positions being targeted are: right wing-back, left wing-back, central midfield and striker.
Worryingly, timing appears to be the problem for Wolves. Pereira wanted his signings through the door early, but in typical Fosun fashion, Wanderers are entering August with just two new faces at Molineux, and this has wider implications on the club.
Wolves failing to buck worrying August trend
There were claims in June that the ‘penny had dropped’ with Fosun, suggesting they were willing to invest in the playing squad and fulfil Pereira’s ambitions of finishing in mid-table.
Pereira has already directed his frustrations at the lack of transfer activity, as the Portuguese boss wanted to get players in early and get them prepared for the campaign.
Unless some miracles happen in the next few weeks, they are entering the 2025/26 campaign very unprepared, and if they aren’t careful, Wolves’ worrying record in August will continue.
Of the 17 games Wolves have played in August since returning to the Premier League seven years ago, they’ve won just once and lost 10.
With a fixture against Manchester City to open the campaign, followed by clashes against Bournemouth and Everton, the Old Gold could continue their horrific trend by struggling to win in August.
