Jorgen Strand Larsen to Newcastle was a transfer saga that rumbled on throughout much of August.
The Geordies were in desperate need of another centre-forward, with Callum Wilson allowed to leave and Alexander Isak going on strike after he felt promises were broken.
In their hunt for new attacking players, Strand Larsen was near the top of the list, and the Magpies sent multiple bids to try and tempt the Old Gold into selling.
With Newcastle in the Champions League, Larsen was tempted by their offer, and he did wish to leave.
In the end, the Norwegian stayed and has since signed a new contract at the club. He has now spoken out about the saga.
Jorgen Strand Larsen believes the situation was handled ‘right’ between himself and Wolves

Jorgen Strand Larsen could have followed in the footsteps of Yoane Wissa and Alexander Isak, with both players’ decisions to refuse to train and play working out for them.
Wissa secured his move to Newcastle, while Isak completed a record move to Liverpool.
However, Strand Larsen has now said via Chronicle Live that he never had the intention to do the same.
Wolves’ number nine stated, “We all have contracts, but at the same time it’s important that clubs and players manage to have a proper dialogue.
“There’s probably a lot that’s promised when you get to clubs, and then the players think about it when they move on. Then there’s a ‘clash’.
“From our side, I think we did things right. The transfer came quite late in the window, and it’s hard to say what would have happened if it had been earlier. But we resolved the situation well and had our heads in the right place.”
The Norwegian certainly handled things correctly, and while he was injured for quite a few games in the immediate weeks before and after the transfer deadline had passed, the speculation did not stop his performances.
Amid the drama of the transfer window, Larsen scored two goals for Wolves in a comeback win against West Ham in the Carabao Cup.
Sunderland vs Wolves is perfect chance for Jorgen Strand Larsen to be back among the goals
Jorgen Strand Larsen scored 14 Premier League goals last season, but so far, he has yet to hit the net in the league this campaign.
Injuries have halted his performances, but as he slowly comes back to full fitness, we should start to see him at his very best.
The Old Gold are struggling, and they desperately need their star man to produce goals.
Erling Haaland being sent home early could see Larsen start for Norway against New Zealand, and getting extra minutes before Saturday’s game against Sunderland is a positive.
It is a great chance for Larsen to break his duck this season, and despite not signing for Newcastle, it could be a game where they will get to celebrate his goals.
