How Fosun believe they’ve let Gary O’Neil down as sack update emerges – Wolves fans will be shocked

Wolves manager Gary O’Neil is walking on thin ice after the Old Gold’s defeat to Everton.

The Midlands club endured a nightmare at Goodison Park as Wolves lost 4-0 to Everton in what was considered a must-win contest.

As expected, fans have lost all trust in O’Neil, who was exposed to the thoughts of the loyal supporters who travelled to Merseyside for the defeat.

Gary Lineker thinks O’Neil is on his way out after noting the Wolves manager’s demeanour at Goodison, with things at Molineux under review.

Wolves hierarchy take responsibility for Gary O’Neil failure

It’s been a terrible time for Wolves and the fans who have been exposed to some exceptionally poor performances over the last few months.

Wolves have conceded 36 goals already this season in the Premier League, six more than any other team in what has been a disastrous campaign.

While Wolves’ hierarchy are set to stick by O’Neil against West Ham, there’s an understanding that things could soon change for the Old Gold.

Speaking to journalist Graeme Bailey, Molineux News were informed that while O’Neil is feeling the pressure, Fosun and co realise they’re partly to blame for the manager’s failure.

“The club firmly believe they are far too good to be second from bottom and although they acknowledge some bad luck has played its part in recent results, the situation can’t all be put down to that,” Bailey said.

“The club also realise that they let O’Neil down with their lack of relevant signings in the summer.

“They will look to put that right in January but it may be the case that O’Neil does not benefit from them unless he can put things right, and quickly.”

Wolves failed in the summer transfer window

The summer transfer window was vital for Fosun to hand O’Neil the finances required to bolster his team.

Such didn’t happen as Matt Hobbs made an error by letting key players leave once again, seeing the back of Pedro Neto and Max Kilman with no replacement.

Letting the two stars depart wasn’t the greatest of Wolves’ concerns as somehow, a central defender was unable to be signed.

The consequences of such are unable to be ignored as the Old Gold sit down in 19th, limited on defensive resources and struggling with the so-called reliable tools they have.
