How David Moller Wolfe truly feels about a lack of minutes at Wolves

David Moller Wolfe arrived to replace Rayan Ait Nouri, but the Norwegian has struggled to force his way into Vitor Pereira’s plans.

Moller Wolfe joined from AZ Alkmaar in a deal worth around £10 million earlier in the summer.

Since then, he has played only 132 minutes of football in the Old Gold. Most recently, the left-back was completely left out of the Wolves squad against Leeds, despite being fully fit.

Over the last international break, he looked like he could start to push his way into the head coach’s plans after what Wolfe did for Norway.

But that was not to be the case. Now, David Moller Wolfe has come out and said how he feels about his situation at Wolves.

David Moller Wolfe says he must work hard to get back into starting XI

David Moller Wolfe never saw the pitch against Tottenham Hotspur, but he was still named in the squad.

After the game, he was approached by the Norwegian media, and he was asked about his current situation and the lack of minutes.

Wolfe said via VG, “It’s tough. I just have to work my way into it. I have to find the right balance of being honest with myself during tough times. At the same time, I have to be extremely hungry for minutes. I have to be ready to play and start every match. So I’m working on that now.”

“I have to keep training hard and working. I have no other choice. I can either go home and feel sorry for myself or train hard and be ready when the opportunity comes.”

It has been a tough start for Wolfe, although he did get an assist off the bench in the Premier League match against Everton. However, new developments at Wolves could be a turnaround for him.

David Moller Wolfe should be given a chance in new system

The new four-back system has been a revelation at Wolves.

The last two performances that have seen Vitor Pereira adopt a four-man defence have produced much-improved displays.

David Moller Wolfe previously stated the wing-back role was new for him and that he typically played as a left-back instead.

He felt he would excel as a wing-back, but he has not yet made an impact. This new system would allow the Norwegian to slot into a more familiar role, and that could unearth better performances from him.

However, that will be up to Vitor Pereira on whether he starts to give him more minutes, as right now, he is currently out of favour.
