Alexander Sorloth failed to make his mark in the Premier League, but he could now return to England with Wolves.
Currently plying his trade with Spanish giants Atletico Madrid, Sorloth is reportedly on Wolves’ radar this summer.
Fabio Silva’s expected Molineux departure leaves a hole in Vitor Pereira’s forward line, and it is believed Sorloth could fill that void.
The Norwegian would undoubtedly be a huge signing, but there is one thing that Wolves must consider before making a move, and that is the striker’s past difficulties in the Premier League during his time at Crystal Palace.

Alexander Sorloth spoke on his Premier League difficulties
Sorloth’s tally of 47 goals across the last two seasons ranks him among Europe’s best. There was a time, though, in which the Norwegian struggled to find the back of the net.
Joining Crystal Palace as a relatively inexperienced 22-year-old, Sorloth struggled to adapt to life in the Premier League following his 2018 transfer from FC Midtjylland.
The striker would only manage to score a single goal across 20 appearances for the Eagles, eventually leaving the club in 2020 in a transfer to RB Leipzig.

When reflecting on his Premier League career, Sorloth spoke on the difficulties he faced during his time at Selhurst Park.
“I had a wrongly cancelled goal against Chelsea in one of the first matches. If I had scored, then I might have cemented my position in the team. The following week I was going to start against Huddersfield, but unfortunately, I suffered an injury,” Sorloth told TV2 in 2020.
“I tried to think positively, but didn’t get a minute for the rest of the season, even though I was in the squad. It went beyond my self-confidence when I couldn’t play anymore after the first four games, where I felt I had been decent.
“You are judged by fans and journalists for the few minutes you get at the end of a match, which I think is terribly unfair.
“If you are a player who just gets brought on, it goes beyond confidence and you feel you are not good enough to start. It causes stress, especially as a striker.”
Sorloth’s post-Crystal Palace career presents smart move for Wolves
Now, five years on from his Premier League exit, it is safe to say Sorloth has gone from strength to strength in Spain.
The 29-year-old has put his Palace struggles behind him and become one of La Liga’s sharpest shooters, narrowly missing out on the Pichichi trophy in 2023/24.

Jorgen Stand Larsen has impressed at Molineux during his debut campaign, but if Wolves get the chance to sign someone of Sorloth’s ability, they should grab it with both hands.
