Vitor Periera is laser-focused on securing Premier League survival for Wolves but the Portuguese tactician will also have his players’ futures to focus on.
Pereira has already made some big decisions this season, banishing Craig Dawson from first-team training after urging Wolves to rip up his contract.
The 56-year-old also sold Mario Lemina to Galatasary for £2.5 million after the Gabon international disrespected the club by refusing to play.
Lemina and Dawson aren’t the only two players whose contracts were set to expire in June 2025, as Pablo Sarabia’s Wolves future is up in the air along with captain Nelson Semedo.

Vitor Pereira urges Wolves to keep Nelson Semedo
Liam Keen suggested Semedo is likely to leave Wolves this summer as he’s one of the highest earners in the squad.
It also emerged that Benfica were interested in a move for Semedo, seeing an opportunity to land the 31-year-old on a free transfer.
But whilst his future is hanging in the balance, Pereira is adamant about keeping the Portuguese international who has featured 23 times in all competitions this term.
“I don’t know if he’s talking with the club or not,” Pereira said when asked about Semedo’s future via the E&S. “Nelson is happy, he’s a very good player and I hope next season we will be together here.
“I hope that because he’s a good player and we must keep our best players. He’s very important for us, not only inside the pitch but outside the pitch.
“He’s a captain and he helped me a lot with everything. This is important for us and he’s an important player.”
Keeping Semedo is vital for Wolves’ stability
Semedo was only named Wolves captain in December after Lemina was stripped of the responsibility and as Pereira said, he’s a huge leadership presence in the squad.
Although it makes sense for the club financially to release him, it could be detrimental to get rid of him and then hand the armband to someone else.

Stability is key for Wolves to have a bright future and providing they remain in the Premier League, many supporters would want the right-back to sign fresh terms.
Semedo was a £29 million capture from Barcelona in 2020 and the experienced defender has developed into an important member of the squad.
So, with his performances at right-back standing out – ranking in the top 11% for defenders across Europe for successful take-ons – it could cost a lot to replace someone of his quality.
But, since the club are looking to cut back on their wage structure, a telling few months await as Semedo resolves his future.
