‘He’s unbelievable’ – Wolves fans so impressed by one player despite frustrating Arsenal loss

Wolves have slipped into the relegation zone this weekend in the Premier League – but fans did take one positive away from the defeat to Arsenal.

Wolves are now 18th in the table following the 1-0 loss to the Gunners and the 2-1 win for Leicester City over Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday.

Vitor Pereira’s side were in a good position to take at least a point.

Arsenal went down to 10 men after a red card for Myles Lewis-Skelly in the first-half. But Joao Gomes then got sent off in the second-half to result in a level playing field again.

Arsenal then scored through Riccardo Calafiori to condemn Wolves to a fourth straight defeat.

It was an opportunity missed for Wolves, and Joao Gomes came in for criticism from Danny Murphy for getting his second yellow card.

Pereira was also less than impressed with Gomes for his challenge.

But Wolves fans have heaped praise on Emmanuel Agbadou following his debut at Molineux.

Agbadou once again lined up as the defender on the left of the back three for Wolves against Arsenal.

The Ivory Coast international has been playing that role in the absence of Toti Gomes, who was back on the bench on Saturday.

It was an assured performance from Agbadou, who didn’t give Gabriel Martinelli much down his side.

On social media, there was a lot of negativity over the result and the current state of affairs at Wolves. But plenty praised Agbadou, who many feel is already proving himself as a great signing.

A good start for Agbadou, but he needs position change

Agbadou has now made four appearances for Wolves since his transfer from Reims – and the general consensus is that he looks really promising.

Without a doubt, Agbadou is impressive from a defensive and physical standpoint.

He dealt with Martinelli with ease at times on Saturday, and the English game should suit him.

But his passing has bit a tad wayward so far, but that is perhaps to be expected when he’s having to play on the left side.

Toti Gomes’ return should help Agbadou though, in that Pereira can then move him over to the right side so he can use his strong foot more.
