‘He’s changed his mind’: Gary Neville mocks Jamie Carragher for what he said about Wolves

Jamie Carragher last night changed his mind about Wolves, after watching their performance against Manchester United.

Wanderers fell to defeat at Old Trafford in Gary O’Neil’s first match in charge.

While Wolves came away with nothing, it was an absolutely fantastic display from the team.

Wolves deserved at least a point, but some wayward finishing and dodgy officiating meant that Wolves had nothing to show for their efforts.

It was a performance that rather came out of nowhere.

One week ago, Julen Lopetegui left the club.

It was been a bit of a chaotic week, and everything pointed to United winning the game comfortably.

But there was real fight in that Wolves team last night.

And the display even caused Sky pundit Carragher to change his mind about Wolves.

Jamie Carragher now feels Wolves will survive relegation this season

The Wolves players will be feeling frustrated this morning.

Especially after the denial of a clear penalty for the challenge by Andre Onana on Sasa Kalajdzic.

But hopefully they will also be feeling optimistic about the season ahead.

After the game, Carragher gave his thoughts about which teams will be going down come May next year.

And his three picks did not include Wolves, despite him tipping them to do down earlier.

His co-pundit Gary Neville exclaimed when he saw his picks: “I’ve just realised he’s got Burnley going down, he said Wolves about two hours ago! He’s changed his mind.”

Wolves will easily survive if they produces performance like against Man United

After last night, a lot of people will probably be revising their picks for relegation just like Carragher.

Wolves were absolutely superb at Old Trafford and should have come away with at least a point.

It was so refreshing to see Wolves playing with confidence and trying to take the game to United.

Many just expected O’Neil to set his side up to sit back and defend.

Pretty much, if Wolves put in that kind of performance regularly through 2023/24, then there’s no way the club will be staring at a relegation battle.

Wolves just got extremely unlucky last night. So playing like that again will definitely yield points against other teams.
