Former Molineux defender Andy Thompson praised Matheus Nunes, following Wolves’ defeat to Manchester United on Monday.
Wolves put in a superb display at Old Trafford, but came up just short on the night.
Raphael Varane scored a header for the hosts against the run of play.
Wolves created so many chances and were seriously unlucky not to score.
And at the end, Wolves were somehow denied a penalty when Andre Onana clattered into Sasa Kalajdzic.
But there were plenty of positives to take from the game.
MORE WOLVES STORIES
And one such positive was how good Nunes looked.
Andy Thompson praises Matheus Nunes after defeat to Manchester United
Nunes started against United on the left side.

The 24-year-old featuring out wide is something Wolves fans have started to get fairly used to of late.
But Nunes had license to drift inside against United – and he was fantastic in parts of the game when carrying the ball forwards.
And his display left Thompson impressed.
The former full-back was really taken by the speed of Nunes on the ball.
Watching the game for Wolves’ Matchday Live Extra show, he said: “Nunes has just got great acceleration. When you watch him, he’s just so smooth with the way he moves.
“They’ve (Nunes and Matheus Cunha) got great feet and they’re strong at running with it. Nunes is quite strong and he holds off players well, moves it with his feet and then he’s gone. If we can keep those two fit and keep them going the way they are, they are going to cause teams so many problems because there’s nothing worse as a defender than someone running through that central position and opening things up.”
Brilliant from Nunes
This was one of Nunes’ best displays in a Wolves shirt.
The maestro was full of running an confidence, and was a sight to behold at times along with Cunha.
There were still moments where he was a bit sloppy, and tried to overdo things.

But Nunes is so clearly an unbelievable and unique talent.
He just needs to find that consistency, and Wolves will be absolutely laughing.
