Gonzalez names the one Wolves ace who’s been a surprise, O’Neil really likes him

Enso Gonzalez has admitted that fellow summer signing Jean-Ricner Bellegarde has surprised him at Wolves, and is a player Gary O’Neil already really likes.

The youngster has done an interview with Paraguayan outlet Versus, and spoken about his time at Wolves so far since signing from Libertad.

Gonzalez has not yet made his first-team debut for Wolves.

The teenager is looking to settle and find his feet at the club first, before Gary O’Neil throws him into a game.

He’s turned out a few times for the U21s, and is currently getting to grips with the rigours of English football.

But Gonzalez is enjoying himself, and likes training with the first-team.

He has now shared why Jean Ricner-Bellegarde has actually surprised him the most at Wolves…

Bellegarde was Wolves’ final signing of the summer window, signing on deadline day for around £13 million from Strasbourg.

The Frenchman has made a really good impression so far, despite not featuring too much as a result of suspension and injury.

Gonzalez has been impressed with how quickly he has shown his quality for the club. He also stated that manager Gary O’Neil is already quite taken by him.

He said (as quoted by journalist Roberto Rojas): “My teammates are all great people, but the one that surprised me the most was Jean-Ricner Bellegarde.

“We both arrived at the same time at the club and after having a few practices, he was already flying. A lot of technical ability and O’Neil likes him a lot.”

Max Kilman also said shortly after Bellegarde signed for the club that he had looked really good in training.

Bellegarde seemingly highly regarded by his Wolves teammates

It sounds very much as though Bellegarde has made a real impression since signing for Wolves.

Pedro Neto also said shortly after he signed that Bellegarde had shown a ‘really good attitude’ and ‘really good quality’.

It’s interesting to hear Gonzalez say that O’Neil really likes the midfielder.

You would imagine that the 25-year-old is going to play a big part for Wolves this season. He hasn’t had much time on the pitch so far, but you can still see from the small sample size that he is a good player.
