Gary O’Neil shares positive fitness update on Pedro Neto

Gary O’Neil has shared a fitness update on Wolves’ star man Pedro Neto who has been out since a 2-2 draw with Newcastle.

Wolves fans and staff were all petrified when Pedro Neto pulled up against Newcastle a few weeks back.

Neto’s injury happened as he beat Sean Longstaff before pulling up with a limp, instantly grabbing his hamstring it was the moment we had all been dreading since his excellent form began.

Now, however, it seems a return could be closer than we initially had thought. Last week we heard Wolves were optimistic, and now Gary O’Neil has shared an update on his fitness during his press conference on Friday.

O’Neil on Neto return

Speaking in his press conference, which has been quoted by Express and Star, O’Neil sounded confident of Neto returning in the not-too-distant future.

“Pedro is still missing, but the rest of the group seems to be in a good place,” O’Neil said.

He then continued with a positive update saying, “I hope (he’ll be back for the Fulham game), but there’s a lot to do between now and then.

“Hopefully he’ll be back. It’s two-and-a-half weeks away and there’s a lot of things to tick off before he’s available to play.”

Pedro Neto has been great this season

Before his injury, Neto was one of the Premier League’s standout players and he will be keen to continue where he left off upon return.

Neto has seven Premier League assists and one goal in just 10 games this season which is really impressive.

Attracting interest from the likes of Arsenal and Liverpool just shows how good he has been.

Wolves will be hoping to instead tie him down to a new deal, while worries over his injury proneness persist.
