Gary O’Neil has issued a transfer claim ahead of January while reflecting on the fact Hwang Hee-Chan will be missed.
This season has been a great one for several individuals at Wolves along with the club as a whole enjoying some excellent results.
Pedro Neto was in the form of his life prior to his injury, while Matheus Cunha has set the Premier League alight in recent weeks.
But there’s one player in particular that has been a game-changer is the brilliant Hwang Hee-Chan.
The South Korean international has scored nine times already this season across the Carabao Cup and primarily the Premier League – this almost doubling his previous best tally for the club.
He’s become an absolutely crucial member of Gary O’Neil‘s team with several vital goals which makes his absence next month all the more painful.
Hwang will miss as much as six weeks of action for Old Gold which creates a massive gap in the Wolves team which currently there isn’t a player to fill.
Speaking to Express and Star, O’Neil touched on this as he made a claim on the opportunity that January presents to Wolves.

Gary O’Neil on Hwang Hee-Chan absence and transfers in January
O’Neil began as he explained the impact missing Hwang will have on the team before he began to discuss potential transfer business.
“But with Channy’s goalscoring numbers and what he’s been so far, losing him will test us.”
The AFC Asian Cup starts on January 12th and concludes on February 10th so there is a quite a big period which Hwang could miss.
“January gives us an opportunity to hopefully do something about those situations, but then also we have people sat there raring to go and desperate to show what they can do.”
Wolves are believed to be keen on bringing a striker into the club along with a winger in order to bolster their attacking ranks for the season ahead.
“January gives us an opportunity to try and strengthen and shuffle things around,” O’Neil explained.
Who could Wolves sign in January?
With Wolves looking for attacking options, Norwich City’s Jonathan Rowe could be a sensible target as long-term interest could be renewed in January.
In terms of a striker target, Serhou Guirassy is one who Wolves are due to face some serious competition for as multiple clubs have sent scouts to watch the high-scoring Bundesliga star.
Wolves have also made 18-year-old Real Betis striker Yanis Senhadji a target but again will face tough competition, this time from Real Madrid.
