Gary O’Neil gives Pedro Neto injury update as first-teamer is confirmed to be fit for Fulham v Wolves

The latest Wolves injury news ahead of the side’s clash against Fulham as Gary O’Neil updates fans on Pedro Neto.

Wolves are looking to continue their fine form on Monday as they travel to the capital.

Before the international break, O’Neil oversaw a fantastic 2-1 win against Spurs at Molineux to help his side get back to winning ways.

Fulham have struggled so far this season and find themselves 15th in the Premier League.

However, Wolves’ squad is still not back at full strength despite the break as they look to get back-to-back league wins.

Despite hopes that the winger would be back for Fulham, O’Neil has confirmed that the fixture has come too soon for the 23-year-old.

The Portuguese international has been out since the 2-2 draw against Newcastle

Despite initial fears of the size of the injury, Wolves have been ‘more optimistic’ about his condition.

However, O’Neil confirmed on the Wolves website on Thursday that he won’t be in the Wolves squad on Monday night.

He said: “Pedro won’t make Monday. He’s got a little bit more work to do. Pedro will stay with the physios and fitness staff for a bit longer. There’s no exact time frame, but Monday he won’t be available. Hopefully, it’s weeks. It’s hard because there’ll be tests done, he goes for other check-ups and scans and you’re sort of guided by them, how quickly he’s healing, but he’s healing very well.

“He’s probably ahead of where they would have wanted him to be at this point. We’re pleased with the progress he’s made, but with the nature of the injury, we need to make sure everything’s ticked off properly before he’s back with the group.”

Expected return: Nottingham Forest (December 9)

There were initial fears that Lemina would not be fit for Fulham.

The Gabonese international picked up a knock on his ankle while away with his country.

However, O’Neil confirmed in his press conference that he would be fine for the upcoming fixture.

“Mario rolled his ankle on international duty but should be fine,” O’Neil added.

This will come much to the relief of Wolves fans due to Lemina’s excellent form

The midfielder scored the winner against Spurs and was widely praised for his performance.

Expected return: Fulham (November 27)
