Wolves may face a battle to keep hold of Pedro Neto in the summer – but the form of Chiquinho may be reason not to panic about the Portuguese.
Neto enjoyed a terrific start to 2023/24 season before his hamstring injury, making seven assists in the Premier League.
He’s just returned to action and will now be looking to kick on again in the absence of the hugely influential Hwang Hee-chan.
Currently, despite him having been injured, there is some transfer speculation about Neto.
Wolves are not about to offload him in this window, but the club will surely face a real battle to keep hold of him in the summer.
But quite possibly, the club may have another top young winger on their hands in Chiquinho by that point…
Chiquinho sends message to Wolves boss Gary O’Neil with another goal on loan for Farmalicao

Yesterday evening, Chiquinho turned out once again for Farmalicao for his 12th appearance of the season.
Last weekend, he scored a sensational overhead kick against Chaves and last night he was on the scoresheet once again.
Chiquinho opened the scoring just before half-time for Farmalicao, collecting a poorly cleared ball on the edge of the area, before lashing the ball in low.
It was a clinical finish from the youngster, his third for the club since joining on loan.
Unlike last weekend, Farmalicao went on the win the game and Chiquinho’s overall performance was good, with Sofascore data indicating he won 8/11 duels and completed 3/3 duels. He also completed two key passes, and was difficult to contain, being fouled three times.
Pedro Neto’s heir?
It is fantastic to see that Chiquinho is finding form over in Portugal, after a tough time last season.
£3 million signing Chiquinho missed the whole of the 2022/23 season after sustaining a very serious knee injury, which was a travesty given the way he had finished the 2021/22 campaign as one of Wolves’ best players.
Wolves fans were so excited to see what he could bring, but he was robbed of the chance to kick on.
Thankfully, he now seems to be thriving with Farmalicao and perhaps he stands to become an heir to Neto when he returns.
Neto may well leave Molineux in the summer, and Chiquinho does seem like he could be a possible replacement, as someone blessed with electric pace and direct dribbling.
Hopefully Neto won’t go anywhere, but you would big imagine offers will be coming in for him and Wolves may not be able to turn one down.
