Gary Neville makes perfect Wolves point as he slates Arsenal fans’ reaction to Myles Lewis-Skelly red card

Last weekend, Wolves lost to Arsenal at Molineux and the red card for Myles Lewis-Skelly has absolutely dominated all the talk about the game.

Wolves lost 1-0 to the Gunners, and it was a frustrating result because the visitors went down to 10 men midway through the first-half.

They did not capitalise, and then Wolves had Joao Gomes sent off for a foul on Jurrien Timber. Pundit Danny Murphy branded the challenge by Gomes ‘ridiculous’.

But the Lewis-Skelly sending off has prompted a huge reaction.

Micah Richards called the Lewis-Skelly red card the worst decision in the Premier League history, and Arsenal fans have moaned all week about the call, despite their side winning the game.

Today, a new video dropped on the US Overlap YouTube channel featuring Gary Neville, who gave a verdict on the situation that Wolves fans will greatly appreciate.

Neville was reviewing the weekend’s action on the US Overlap, and gave his opinion on the Lewis-Skelly red card.

Neville makes it clear that he felt it was ‘a classic yellow card’, feeling Michael Oliver and the VAR got it wrong.

But the Sky Sports pundit slammed the reaction to the decision from a lot of Arsenal fans on social media in the days after the game. And he also brilliantly pointed out that Wolves have been on the receiving end of many awful decisions themselves.

He said: One thing I will say is, I think they’ve (Arsenal fans) become so entitled.

“Honestly, I mean Arsenal… playing against Wolves. Wolves got more bad decisions against them in the last 15 months than any other club in the country it feels like!

“They had some shockers against them last season. It was a bad decision (the Lewis-Skelly red card), but I feel like, it’s like the exaggeration in the actual response. Maybe that was the same with us at United back in the day and that’s why people didn’t like us. Maybe that’s what Arsenal are creating now – that siege mentality.”

Neville is spot on – Lewis-Skelly reaction has been embarrassing

This verdict from Neville will be appreciated by so many Wolves fans who have grown sick to the back teeth of VAR and Premier League officiating over the last couple of years.

The response from many Arsenal fans on social media to the Lewis-Skelly red card has been beyond embarrassing.

There have also been some ridiculous takes from people in the media, such as Richards calling it the worst decision in Premier League history. Troy Deeney also suggested the same.

The reaction has been completely overboard, from a fanbase who actually watched their side go on to win the game, and Lewis-Skelly’s red card has also since been overturned.
