Wolves are flying after winning their fourth Premier League game in a row – and Gary Lineker has shared his thoughts about the club’s recent revival.
Wolves beat Tottenham Hotspur 4-2 at Molineux on Sunday.
Vitor Pereira has now overseen a run over one draw and four wins, placing Wolves at the top of the Premier League form table over the last five matches with a haul of 13 points.
It’s been a remarkable turnaround at Wolves given how things were looking only a few months ago.
But the arrival of Pereira has changed everything, and fans are now feeling extremely optimistic about the future.
Wolves’ latest win over Tottenham was discussed on the latest Rest Is Football podcast episode, and Gary Lineker gave some of his thoughts about the recent positivity at Molineux.
Gary Lineker says he’s ‘not surprised’ by Wolves’ revival

With the win over Spurs, Wolves have now moved onto 35 points, putting the club 14 clear of the relegation zone.
Wolves also moved up a place into 16th, which is the highest they’ve been all season.
The job Pereira has done – in such a short space of time – is nothing short of remarkable.
At times this season though, things have looked dicey at Wolves. Although most of the struggles came under Gary O’Neil.
But Gary Lineker – who praised Pereira last week – has insisted he never really worried too much about Wolves due to the pool of talent on the squad.
Also praising Wolves for winning four Premier League games in a row, he said on The Rest is Football: “We should also mention Wolves. Because they’ve done something that they’ve never done in Premier League history and that’s win four games on the bounce.
“Vitor Pereira has come in and he’s done a really excellent job. We always said didn’t we Micah that he thought that Wolves had enough.
“That their players were better kind of what they showed in the early stages of the season. I think they were a little bit unfortunate because they had so many difficult fixtures right at the start, and that can affect your confidence. They’ve bounced back really well.
“They’ve got a lot of talent out there. I’m not surprised at all, although winning four on the bounce is quite an achievement.”
Wolves had the talent, but Pereira still deserves huge credit
It is fair of Lineker to say that Wolves did always have a really talented squad.
However, everyone could see that Wolves were in serious trouble earlier in the season, and it was paramount that O’Neil left when he did.
You can have all the talent in the world, but it won’t count for anything unless you have the right manager, and unless the dressing room is in a good place.

It can be argued that Wolves didn’t have any of those things before Pereira came on the scene.
O’Neil did show promise during his first season at Wolves, but ultimately it all fell apart and he needed to go when he did, if not sooner.
So while Wolves had talent in their squad, it cannot be overstated how good a job Pereira has done given how much there was to do.
Hopefully now, Fosun will back Pereira having seen the impact he’s made and how he has reconnected everyone at the club.
