Wolves picked up three big points at the weekend by beating Bournemouth.
After narrowly losing to Liverpool at Anfield, Wanderers returned to winning ways on the south coast, beating the Cherries 1-0 courtesy of a goal from Matheus Cunha.
Wolves perhaps got a tad lucky with Illia Zabarnyi getting sent off for a challenge on Rayan Ait-Nouri after a VAR intervention. Even Cunha admitted Zabarnyi’s red card was ‘unfortunate’.
But it was an impressive result nonetheless for Vitor Pereira given he had players like Emmanuel Agbadou, Rodrigo Gomes and Goncalo Guedes missing.
And it was big in terms of Wolves’ standing in the league.
Wolves are now five points clear of the relegation zone, and fans are starting to feel optimistic about a more comfortable end to the season.
It could all change though with the next round of fixtures starting tomorrow, but Gary Lineker is pretty adamant what is going to happen come May.
Gary Lineker tips Wolves to survive relegation

It was a great weekend for Wolves.
Not only did they take three points against a very good team.
But all their relegation rivals lost, and lost heavily.
Southampton are as good as relegated already, but lost 4-0 to Brighton.
Leicester City lost 4-0 to Brentford, and Ipswich Town were beaten 4-1 by Tottenham Hotspur.
Gary Lineker was speaking about the relegation places on the Rest Is Football podcast, and feels that this was a significant set of results, believing the current bottom three will now go down.
He said: “The promoted three teams are going to go down, aren’t they? Leicester got spanked.
“It’ll be the second successive season – unless one of them stages a miraculous recovery, which I can’t see – that the three promoted clubs will go straight back down.”
Alan Shearer added: “It does feel like a really pivotal weekend at both ends of the table because of West Ham and Wolves winning. All the bottom three conceded four goals. It just feels like a weekend where it’s almost done.”
Wolves can’t get sucked back in and must kick on
Lineker is very confident he knows who’ll be relegated in May, but Wolves fans will take nothing for granted.
Until safety is mathematically secured, supporters will remain concerned. It has just been that kind of season.

That said, the picture is looking much brighter under Pereira, who has now surpassed the number of points Gary O’Neil took in the Premier League this season (12 vs 9) with that win at Bournemouth.
Wolves should have enough to pull clear of the relegation zone, with the teams below all in a world of trouble.
But there is still a lot of work to be done, and it’s just about finding that consistency for Wolves, who can beat anyone on their day.
