Hwang Hee-chan has been lavished with praise from BBC pundit Garth Crooks, who has included the forward in his Premier League Team of the Week.

The South Korean’s brace against Newcastle United ensured Bruno Lage won his first match at Molineux in the last game before the October international break.

It’s now three goals from four Premier League games for the man on loan from RB Leipzig.

The 25-year-old looks to be developing a deadly partnership with Raul Jimenez, which is exciting everyone throughout the club, according to captain Conor Coady.

The strike duo also drew praise from Match of the Day pundits Ian Wright and Danny Murphy.

Following his performance in the Black Country, Crooks included Hwang in his latest Team of the Week.

Crooks said on Hwang (via BBC Sport): “It looks like Wolves have found a finisher to go with Raul Jimenez. Both men were in devastating form against Newcastle, who couldn’t have finished a fish supper.

“Granted Jeff Hendrick came on and scored a stunner for the Magpies, but if you can’t take the simple chances you’re going to struggle to win matches.

“Meanwhile, Hwang finished superbly on two occasions and both were supplied courtesy of the bang-in-form Jimenez. Wolves look so much better with a fit Jimenez back in the side but Hwang’s ability to finish could become a major asset.”

Crooks highlighted that Hwang’s double against Steve Bruce’s side meant that he was the first Wolves player to net a brace in a Premier League game since Diogo Jota in February 2020 against Norwich City.

In Hwang and Jimenez, Lage has a pairing that looks like they could bring out the best in one and other.

And with the likes of Adama Traore, Daniel Podence and Trincao, as well as Pedro Neto to return, Wolves have gone from a team that looked like they couldn’t buy a goal, to a team that could really punish and inflict some heavy defeats on teams.

Hwang has been a revelation since he joined the club, and he more than deserves his place in Crooks’ Team of the Week.
