Wolves have had so many top performers this term – but there is no doubt in Garth Crooks’ mind that Pedro Neto is the player of the season so far at Molineux.
Wanderers recorded another brilliant victory in the Premier League on Saturday, beating Tottenham Hotspur 2-1 for the second time this campaign.
Wolves were fantastic down in north London, with Joao Gomes scoring a brace.
The Brazilian headed Wolves in front, and then scored on the counter in the second-half after great work by Pedro Neto.
Neto’s run for the second Wolves goal was a sight to behold.
It was a brilliant assist, which actually saw him become Wolves’ highest-ever assister in the Premier League with 19 in total.
He’s been top class, and for Garth Crooks he’s been the best of the bunch this term…
Garth Crooks brands Pedro Neto Wolves’ player of the season so far

Crooks has selected his latest Premier League Team of the Week – and there are two representatives for Wolves this time around.
He has chosen Nelson Semedo, who enjoyed another sensational display in old gold, with Crooks believing the full-back is actually the most improved player under Gary O’Neil.
Crooks also obviously chose Joao Gomes for his two goals and all-round display, branding him ‘inspired’.
There was also a mention for Neto though, with Crooks saying (BBC Sport): “However, the second goal was the result of the most wonderful counterattack masterminded by Pedro Neto who, for me, has been Wolves’ player of the season. It was finished again by Gomes, who had the most inspired afternoon.”
Neto’s haul of nine assists in the league puts him behind only Ollie Watkins and Kieran Trippier, and level with Mo Salah and Pascal Gross.
But of course, £50,000-a-week star Neto was out injured for two months, and has got his nine assists in just 16 appearances.
Neto may just about be Wolves’ player of the season so far
Neto has been sensational this term and there is certainly an argument for him to be Wolves’ player of the season up until this point.
But there are several others who have had amazing campaigns.
Wolves top goalscorer Hwang Hee-chan has been absolutely inspired, while Matheus Cunha has gone to a completely new level this term under O’Neil.
You’ve then got Mario Lemina, who is at the heart of everything in that midfield and always sets the tone.
Neto probably does just about shade it though for his quality and consistency in the final third. Wolves have had real problems scoring goals over the past couple of years, but his end product has been so impressive and has helped Wolves overcome a major issue.
