Given where Wolves are in the table, the pressure on Vitor Pereira is warranted.
Regardless of the visible improvements to Wolves’ overall play, it’s difficult to look too far past the two points amassed over seven games.
Pereira was backed by Wolves with a new contract not long ago, but that doesn’t mean his position is safe. There comes a point when managers are called into question, and that time is fast approaching.
The next two games are massive — some would even say as big as a cup final — and former Premier League striker Gabby Agbolahor thinks they will decide the future of the Wolves boss.

Gabby Agbonlahor says next two games will make or break Vitor Pereira
Agbonlahor has been in this situation before, relegated with Aston Villa in 2015. He knows the pressure that comes with existing at the depths of the Premier League.
Previewing the weekend’s action for talkSPORT, the Englishman was asked which managers he sees as being under the most pressure right now.
His response: “I’m gonna go with Pereira at Wolves. Yeah, he signed a new deal, but Wolves are bottom of the league. Seven games, two points.
“They done very well, though, against Spurs. I thought they were together defensively, very good, unlucky to concede that late equaliser from Palhinha. But I just look at them and they’ve got to get results over the line.”
The results are all that has been missing in the last two Premier League outings, both ending in a draw despite Wolves leading for the most part.
Agbonlahor recognises the importance of these upcoming games, suggesting losses could spell the end for the Portuguese. As he puts it: “Big games coming up as well. Sunderland away, Burnley at home. Those two games are massive.
“You can’t lose to those two teams, so a lot of pressure on him even though he signed a new deal.”
Agbonlahor singles out Jorgen Strand Larsen
One of Wolves’ biggest issues, as Agbonlahor sees it, is the lack of goals this attack is producing.
Of course, the injury of Jorgen Strand Larsen early in the season factors into that, but he’s now getting back to full fitness and Agbonlahor thinks he needs to kick on if Pereira is to survive.

He explains: “Only scored five goals as well, in seven games is not great. They need Strand Larsen to get up to speed and start scoring goals.”
Teams down this end of the table rely more on their strikers for goals, oftentimes needing moments of individual brilliance to scrape results. Apart from a Carabao Cup masterclass, Strand Larsen hasn’t threatened to reach the same heights as last season, still awaiting a first Premier League goal.
That has to come soon, as does a Wolves win.
