Wolves are bottom of the Premier League table after losing to Aston Villa – and Gabby Agbonlahor has now made a fresh prediction this morning.
Wolves lost 3-1 to Villa, with fans left frustrated after they took the lead at Villa Park through Matheus Cunha.
But, just like against Newcastle United the weekend before, Wolves let their lead slip.
Gary O’Neil‘s side were superb in the first-half and should have capitalised more on their momentum. But a completely different Villa emerged in the second-half, and Wolves invited pressure.
It is a real issue right now that Wolves cannot sustain a high level of performance.
For Agbonlahor though, there were positive signs and he’s made a new prediction about O’Neil’s side.
Wolves backed to survive relegation by Gabby Agbonlahor, on one condition

Fans are starting to worry about the fate of the club this season.
Wolves were always going to have a tough start. But the team have picked up just one point so far when really, they should have a few more having been in winning positions.
There appears to be a psychological issue at the moment, and Wolves don’t look comfortable leading games.
But there have at least been positive signs, and Agbonlahor reckons Wolves will have enough to stay up this season. But only if they play more consistently like they did in the first-half at Villa.
He said on talkSPORT this morning: “If Wolves can play how they played in the first half, they will be fine this season.
“The worry for me is that games are 95, 96 minutes now, not 45. Cunha is a very good player, a threat, at the back Ait-Nouri for me was outstanding in the first half against Aston Villa, but you look at maybe their bench and who they are bringing on, their squad depth is not at the standard.
“Do I think they will go down? No, I don’t. Do I think they will be in the bottom half of the table? Yes, I do. I don’t think they will go down. Leicester will be down there. The three teams that came up will go down, for me.”
Wolves need to start winning ugly and picking up points
Wolves were always going to find it tough in these opening weeks of the new season given the fixtures.
The issue a lot of fans have had is the fact Wolves have actually been in positions to take points but not got the job done.
It feels as though there’s a mentality problem at the moment, which is a concern. O’Neil has been urged by Andy Thompson to get Wolves to become more ‘horrible’ on the pitch and win ugly.
O’Neil needs a win desperately right now. He needs to stop the rot, otherwise a relegation battle could well be on the cards.
