Gabby Agbonlahor delivers worrying verdict on Wolves that does not bode well for Fosun

Gabby Agbonlahor has spoken up about Wolves’ chances of survival following their defeat to Sunderland, and the comments made by the former Premier League forward reflect poorly on Fosun.

The Old Gold are the only side to be without a win this season and currently sit three points from safety.

Despite his recent contract, Vitor Pereira’s job is under pressure, with Wolves fans starting to turn on their head coach.

While there is blame to be placed onto the 57-year-old, it should be added that he has been left in a difficult situation by the board.

Gabby Agbonlahor has reiterated that point by saying the issues have been occurring long before Pereira was at the club.

Gabby Agbonlahor believes Wolves’ struggles were ‘inevitable’

Gabby Agbonlahor has given an assessment on Wolves that does not flatter the club’s ownership.

Over the years, the Old Gold have had some excellent players come through their doors, but too often, they have also seen them leave.

The summer window, in the eyes of Wolves fans, was not good enough, and now Gabby Agbonlahor has backed up those claims.

Speaking on talkSPORT, Agbonlahor said, “They’re in turmoil. Two points from eight. Worrying times for Wolves.

“When you keep flirting with relegation season after season, and you keep selling your best players season after season, and the players you bring in don’t click. It’s inevitable that hope will go down.”

The former Aston Villa man is correct, as Wolves’ team in the 2020s would look sensational if nobody were sold.

The disconnect between the board and supporters could not be bigger right now, with Jeff Shi’s comments about the summer window proving so.

Now the manager faces a race against time for both his and the club’s future.

Vitor Pereira does not have long to turn Wolves’ season around

Vitor Pereira’s new contract will not save him from the sack, as Gary O’Neil’s dismissal last season has shown.

The owners won’t want to make the same mistake in back-to-back seasons, but if results do not improve, they will have no choice but to pull the trigger.

Pereira is a quality manager, but he has been left an enormous task that so far he has struggled to tackle.

The recruitment let him down, and nobody wants to see anyone lose their job, but if by the next international break Wolves have not turned a corner, it might be time to look elsewhere to save the season.
