There is potential that Nelson Semedo is playing his final games for Wolves.
Semedo’s contract expires at the end of the current season, and he stands to leave as a free agent after what would be five years at the club.
Semedo, who assumed the captaincy midway through the season, has once again been a staple pick this term, keeping young Pedro Lima out of the team.
But as things currently stand, Lima may be set to become the new regular right-back at Wolves, or the club will be bringing in a replacement.
Semedo is likely to leave Wolves this summer.
But it’s not totally out of the question he could still extend.
And one message Joao Gomes sent to the captain yesterday on social media surely tells Fosun everything they need to know.
Joao Gomes honoured to play with exit-linked Nelson Semedo at Wolves

Semedo is a very popular figure at Wolves.
Fans have come to love what he brings to the table, after a tricky first season at the club, and he has always been a starter for Wolves, suggesting all the managers who have worked with him have been fond of him.
Semedo could well leave the club this summer.
However, it was also reported by Liam Keen recently that there is an openness on both sides for the player to extend.
One man who definitely wants Semedo to stick around is Joao Gomes.
Semedo posted on Instagram about Gomes after the win over Tottenham, saying on his Story: “What this guy playing is crazy 🔥🔥 Monstro @joaogomes01.”
Reposting that post, Gomes said on his own Instagram Story: “My captain, it’s an honour to play by your side.”
While the Brazilian has not outright side he wishes for Semedo to stay, it’s very clear from this post how he feels about the 31-year-old.
Pereira also wants Semedo to stay at Wolves
Pereira is also desperate for Semedo to stay at Wolves. He said after the win over Tottenham: “Nelson is fantastic, that’s why we need to keep him.
“I have spoken to him and the club, but now they need to find the middle of the bridge. If it’s my decision, I want to keep him, but the money is not my money”
“But he (Semedo) is very important for us, not only on the pitch, but off it.”
Between the message from Gomes on social media, and Pereira’s verdict, Fosun have to make Semedo offer he can’t refuse.
Semedo has been a big player for Wolves and is still playing at a high standard.
It would be a travesty to lose him on a free and the owners, working with sporting director Matt Hobbs, have simply got to get him tied down while things are still open.
