A month on from his dismissal at Wolves, Vitor Pereira could be making a swift return to management.
Pereira’s stint at Wolves ended as it began, with the club bottom of the league and in serious danger of relegation.
There was a sharp improvement during that time, and an even quicker fall. After failing to win a game all season, Pereira was sacked by Wolves and Rob Edwards took his place.
Despite a dreadful few months to start the campaign, it seems his stock hasn’t completely plummeted, with rumours of interest coming from a club looking to rebuild from the ground up.

Vitor Pereira attracting interest from Brazilian side Gremio
A manager with as much experience as the ex-Wolves boss will always be looked at as an option, and it hasn’t taken long for his name to come up.
Pereira has had spells at Corinthians and Flamengo, and now it’s Gremio who are considering him to lead a new era at the club. He does have some competition, though.
As Gremio journalist Alex Bage revealed on YouTube: “Luiz Castro, Vitor Pereira, Artur Jorge. Three Portuguese coaches. Grêmio is in contact with these three coaches.”
Bage says all three are solid options. The fact that Pereira is a free agent will surely work in his favour.
As for Pereira’s stance, he may want to take some time off. That hasn’t been the case in the past, but the Wolves job has probably drained him more than most.
Do you agree with Jamie Carragher’s latest verdict on Wolves? 🤔
The pundit has been stunned by the Old Gold's lack of competitiveness in 25/26…
Time may change the Pereira narrative
Things haven’t improved since Pereira’s departure. Wolves fans are out in protest at how dire the situation still is, and it begs an uncomfortable question.
Is there much Pereira could have done?
Not to say he was right with every decision. He definitely wasn’t. But even under a new coach, this Wolves squad just looks too weak compared to the teams ahead of them.
Was Vitor Pereira at fault or is this Wolves squad just not good enough?😬
There are moments that cost Pereira his Wolves job, no doubt. However, this is the same coach who dragged Wolves from the brink last season.
This isn’t an attempt to rewrite history. Wolves were right to sack Pereira given the circumstances.
But as we gain some distance from the situation, it’s possible we will have to reassess exactly where the lion’s share of the blame lies at Molineux.
