Gary O’Neil could turn the fortunes of one rarely-seen Wolves player around but it all depends on one thing.
Wolves are currently in the United States as they embark on their pre-season tour of America.
Gary O’Neil’s side returned from their Marbella training camp to fly to the States, where friendlies against West Ham, Crystal Palace and Leipzig await them.
The squad’s time in Marbella saw a number of surprises as returning loan players Daniel Podence and Goncalo Guedes were handed a part to play in pre-season.

Goncalo Guedes could have another chance at Wolves after travelling with the squad for US pre-season tour
Despite impressing in the early stages of pre-season following his thrilling loan spell at Olympiacos, Podence has not travelled to the United States due to injury.
In the Portuguese winger’s absence, Guedes has joined the squad on the pre-season tour, despite the belief being that he will leave the club once more this summer.
Currently in America following Wolves is journalist Liam Keen, who shared an insight into what the tour could hold for Guedes at Molineux, via Express and Star.
“He [Guedes] is likely to leave this summer, but just like Podence in Marbella, Guedes has been handed an opportunity.
“If – and it is a big if – the player insists he wants to stay and commit his future to Wolves, O’Neil could find a space for him.”
Having made only 18 appearances during his almost two-year association with Wolves, it would be a surprise for Guedes to now revive his career in the Premier League although with O’Neil, anything is possible.
Big change will have to be seen from Guedes
Wolves purchased the Portuguese forward for £27.5m back in 2022 for a reason, with him being a dazzling player full of potential in La Liga.
The season prior to him joining the Old Gold, he contributed to 19 goals in Valencia’s campaign, as Wolves captured the star when he was presumably nearing his prime years.
Instead, things went in the opposite direction than hoped for Guedes and the Midlands club, as he carried himself as an uninterested figure, scoring just two goals so far in his career at Molineux.
Keen alluded to the fact that Guedes must change his approach significantly if he is to stand a chance under O’Neil.
“He is clearly a talented footballer and Wolves would benefit from adding depth in the forward areas.
“But the player will need to adjust his approach from his previous spell with Wolves, which showed a player desperate to move on.”
It would be truly fascinating to see Guedes now be able to call Molineux home after two terrible years at the club, with the manager certainly having the potential to squeeze the best out of the player, if his attitude can change.
