Some Wolves fans have been reacting to comments from Danny Murphy about the team and the way they set up last weekend.
The pundit was appearing on Match of the Day to analyse the weekend’s Premier League action, with Wolves losing in the dying seconds to Liverpool at Molineux.
Divock Origi popped up to turn in Mo Salah’s cross to leave Wanderers fans, and the players, shattered.
It was a sickener to lose after such a big defensive effort from everyone.
Wolves didn’t offer a great deal going forwards, but few teams have been able to take the game to Liverpool this season.
Jurgen Klopp’s team have been a brilliant form and are undoubtedly one the world’s top sides.
Wolves may have put in a big defensive performance, but that didn’t stop Murphy from criticising the team.
He said: “Their lack of willingness to try and run forward or have any courage to win the game, to go and cause Liverpool problems, was disappointing. I’ve seen them much better than that.”
Wolves fans react to Danny Murphy comments
On social media, some Wolves fans have been reacting to Danny Murphy’s comments on Match of the Day.
Quite a few people are not happy with the former Liverpool man’s assessment.
Some feel that Wolves’ approach against a very dangerous side was justifiable.
Certainly, had Wolves held out for a point, Bruno Lage would have been coming in for a lot of praise.
Maybe Wolves could have been bolder, but that would have been a big risk with Liverpool also very deadly on the counter.
Murphy did actually have quite a few people backing him though as well.
Here’s what some people said:
Even if we beat Liverpool 5-0 playing open adventurous football, Danny Murphy would criticise Wolves. He’s never kept his dislike for us secret.

Sure it’s not pretty to watch but sometimes you have to get the Best out of a game result/points wise. Had you kept it at 0-0 it’s a very valuable point which can mean the difference of finishing 6th instead of 7th for example. In the end it wasn’t to be!

It’s true. We have performed so much better and actually won games like that, Bruno needs to bring his players and re introduce brunoball instead of nuno all

Most of the time he talks utter codswallop but on this occasion I agree with him. Don’t mind us shipping some goals if it means we’re more exciting and attacking (maybe Lage will allow this once we’re at the magic 40).

he’s absolutely bang on, tactics that screamed “please don’t batter us” disgraceful tactics from Lage.

How else should you play against them?

He’s spot on. We were awful.

We’d have been torn apart if we’d have run at them. The only disappointment was that we didn’t try and do more when they took Henderson off for Origi. https://t.co/cI5aKUPV7s
