Fans have been reacting to Wolverhampton Wanderers star Daniel Podence’s verdict on a proposal that has rocked the footballing community.
12 clubs – including the ‘Big Six’ from the Premier League – have signed up to partake in a European Super League, that could start as early as this summer.
News began to filter through yesterday afternoon, and by late last night, the concerned clubs had all made their respective announcements.
The proposal has received widespread condemnation from practically all stakeholder groups, with fans of the clubs involved also livid.
Not too many players have actually commented on the plan so far.
MORE WOLVES STORIES
One man who hasn’t been afraid to voice his opinion is Molineux star Podence.
He’s said across his social media channels: “The Ball. The Song. The Dream. The Zidane’s volley… Kaka’s Solo… Liverpool In Athens… Ole in Barcelona… Cris and Seedorf … There some things we just can’t really pay for it.”
The likes of Bruno Fernandes and Joao Cancelo have since shared the Wolves star’s message.
One gets the feeling that plenty of footballers will now start using their platforms to speak out against the Super League.
