‘Fabulous’: Pundit says 27-year-old is now the best he’s ever been at Wolves, after struggling

Dave Edwards has hailed Hwang Hee-chan for his start to the new season for Wolves, saying he is a completely different player.

Hwang has made a flying start for Wolves.

He has scored six goals across all competitions so far.

He’s easily Wolves’ top scorer, and has already equalled his best tally in the Premier League since he arrived at the club.

Hwang has responded extremely well to the arrival of Gary O’Neil at the club.

The South Korean appears to really enjoy playing under him – and Edwards is seriously impressed with his form right now…

He believes that Hwang is now a real favourite of the manager.

He said: “Hwang Hee-chan has been fabulous this season.

“We know he’s a player managers trust because of his work rate and how reliable he is out of possession.

“Last season he looked like a player struggling for confidence and it was similar this season in some games where he wasn’t really involved but was scoring goals.

“When you score goals, that confidence starts to lift, and now you can see his all-round game. He can handle the ball, he’s rolling inside, doing his little tricks, getting Wolves out of trouble and switching play. He looks the best version we’ve seen as Wolves fans, which is testament again to Gary O’Neil for getting the best out of him.”

Hwang has been amazing

Hwang has been absolutely superb so far this season for Wolves.

He looks to be relishing playing under O’Neil, who is clearly a massive fan of the 27-year-old.

Hwang has always felt like a player who needs an arm around the shoulder.

And O’Neil has probably given that to him, and he’s flourishing.

Wolves fans will hope he can keep this kind of level up for as long as possible.
