Fabio Silva has taken a little bit of time to get going at PSV Eindhoven, but the Wolves youngster has officially now arrived in the Netherlands.
Silva has had to bide his time under Ruud van Nistelrooy, who has been using Luuk de Jong up top.
But this week, the 20-year-old finally made his mark.
On Thursday, Silva scored and assisted in PSV’s in the 2-0 Europa League win over Ajax.
Silva got up high and won a header to flick the ball on to de Jong who scored.
Then right at the end, Silva won another header and then got the ball back before sorting his feet out quickly and finishing.
Sadly for PSV, the result wasn’t enough to stop them from going out of the competition, having lost the first leg 3-0.
Silva would be rewarded for his superb 30-minute cameo with a first start against FC Twente today.
van Nistelrooy clearly felt he was finally ready, and Silva did not take long to repay his manager’s faith.
The star ghosted into the area and latched onto a brilliant cross from Johan Bakayoko to head his third goal for the club, and second in just a few days.
Silva’s past few days will really please Wolves officials who made the decision to take him out of Anderlecht last month.
Silva had been a regular for the Belgian outfit, and it looks as though more minutes will now be in the offing for him in the Netherlands.
A great moment for Fabio Silva as star scores twice in just a few days for PSV
Silva has had to be a little bit patient over the past month or so, and it’s brilliant he’s now properly made his mark.
Across his three goal involvements, Silva has provided a reminder of the serious potential he has to become a top striker.
His aerial ability appears to have really improved.
And his finish against Sevilla just showed how deadly he can be when he gets space.
It’s exciting to think about the player that could be coming back to Wolves ahead of the 2023/24 season.
