Winning the World Cup is the peak of football for most players, and there have been a couple of Wolves winners over the years.
Reaching the pinnacle of football for your country is rare, and those who complete this feat etch their names into the history books.
Molineux has seen its fair share of world-class talents over the years, yet there are not many that have shone on the global stage.
Here is a look back at every player who has won the World Cup and has played for Wolves.

Wolves players who have won the World Cup
Ron Flowers – 1966 (England)
Ron Flowers was a core member of the Wolves squad that won three First Division titles and an FA Cup. He played over 450 games for the Old Gold and lined up alongside the legendary Billy Wright.
When the 1966 World Cup squad was selected, Flowers was named. Over his international career, he played 49 times, scoring ten goals, but in 1966 he actually never stepped foot on the pitch.
The Wolves man did not make a single appearance during the tournament, but nonetheless, he was still recognised as a World Cup winner, and he is the only man to win the competition while still playing for the Old Gold.

Emiliano Martinez – 2022 (Argentina)
Emiliano Martinez only had a brief stint at Wolves, and the Argentine’s time at the club was hampered by injuries.
His loan spell during the 2015/2016 season was not the success everyone wanted it to be, but Martinez has since become one of the best goalkeepers in the world.
He played a crucial role in Argentina winning the 2022 edition of the tournament, making a sensational save in extra time to deny Randal Kolo Muani.
He also went on to save a penalty in the shoot-out, helping his country win the World Cup.
Notable Wolves players looking to win the 2026 World Cup
Of course, there will be many past and present Old Gold players partaking in next summer’s tournament, but the usual favourites will be the front-runners.

Morgan Gibbs-White will be looking to deliver a much-awaited international trophy for England.
Portugal has quite a few former and present players. Jose Sa, Vitinha, Ruben Neves and Francisco Trincao will want to win the prestigious trophy as well.
There are a lot more that could be mentioned, but those are just a few of the standout players.
