Over the last few weeks, there have been quite a lot of developments surrounding Wolves’ academy, and now a new coach is set to arrive.
Just recently, Wolves lost a long-term academy employee to Rangers, in a big blow to their youth set-up.
However, it seems the Old Gold are not standing still and are looking to add to the quality of coaching for their young stars.
While a replacement for the outgoing employee is yet to be announced, another coach has been confirmed by his previous club.

Wolves have signed academy goalkeeping coach Fredrik Bjornsby
Wolves have signed academy goalkeeper coach Fredrik Bjornsby, according to his former employers, Djurgarden IK.
The Swedish club released a statement, confirming the departure of Bjornsby and revealing his destination to be the Old Gold.
The statement reads, “After making an impression with his fine efforts in Djurgården’s academy, a new assignment in the Premier League awaits Fredrik as goalkeeping coach for the Wolves academy.”
The new Wolves coach also confirmed his responsibilities in his new role, saying, “I will be a goalkeeper coach in their academy, just like I was in Djurgården, and then I will have U16 and assistant responsibility in U18 and up.”
The Swede will be hoping to bring his expertise and experience to the club after spending six seasons at Djurgarden. He will be instrumental in developing talents such as Xander Grieves.
The goalkeeping coach will work alongside James Collins, the under-21s head coach, as the Old Gold look to finish high in the youth table.
Wolves’ under-21s have started strong in the Premier League 2
Wolves’ youth team is performing quite well in the Premier League 2 this season.
The Old Gold have 10 points from a possible 15 and have lost just one game, a 3-2 loss to Arsenal.
Mateus Mane has been excellent and is surely knocking on the door for a first-team appearance in the near future.
Additionally, youth product Elvis Elendu has been catching the eye of the media recently.
These are exciting times for the youngsters at Wolves, and hopefully we can see quite a few break into the first team over the coming seasons.
